THE MEASURE OF LIFE IS NOT ITS DURATION BUT ITS DONATION
HAR GHAR HAI DONOR is Project Mumbai’s effort to build awareness so that more people pledge to donate. This is in partnership with
AMAR GANDHI FOUNDATION and supported by ROTTO-SOTTO.
ORGAN DONATION RATE in the country IS LESS THAN ONE DONOR PER MILLION POPULATION*
As per the reports, the wait list of recipients is over 3 lakh patients*. Out of this huge number, at least 20 persons die each day waiting for organs*. We are still awaiting the data of the year 2023. India recorded for the first time more than 1000 organs from deceased donor*. But this number is still not sufficient.
Your one pledge, support, spreading awareness to your family and friends can lead to a holistic impact on our health system. Organ donation can be seen as a stigma free and myth free cause leading to more insight to our own selves and our potential to help others.
This is not just about one person-the ME. But about the collective. The WE. Can we come together as a family and donate our organs?
- Generate awareness among the citizens: This awareness is to be done at a stage when everyone is fit and healthy so that this decision does not become a burden when the family is going through a critical situation.
- Our Volunteers: We interact and build a well educated group of citizens who have WORKED in this field, are RESOURCEFUL and are PASSIONATE towards this cause.
- Interaction: We create opportunities for individuals and entire families to sign up for awareness sessions on organ donation.
- Resources: We dissipate information which is verified and use statistics as a means to stress upon the urgency of this topic.
ROLE OF THE FAMILY
In India Family plays the most important role. It is the family or the person in possession of the body who makes the ultimate decision. Each one of us can save lives. As individuals. As a family. We want YOU to be the leader of this campaign. First, on behalf of your family, and then, on behalf of your community as well.

YOUR ORGAN DONOR STATUS ON YOUR DRIVING LICENCE NOW:
Project Mumbai has partnered with the Government of Maharashtra, Transport Department to enable this.
The next time you apply for a driving licence, don’t forget to look at the questions carefully. One of them asks you whether you wish to pledge to donate your organs.
The Options are Y (Yes) and N (No).
Your clicking on Y can save so many lives.
Be our Asli Hero and click Y.
For those with existing driving licences, there is good news too.
You can go on to the RTO website and seek an amendment and, with one click choose the Y (Yes) to pledge to donate.
For a small fee, your duplicate licence will be delivered to your doorstep with the words ORGAN DONOR printed on it.
