Mumbai Climate Week (MCW) first convened in February 2026, marks India’s first platform dedicated to accelerating climate action, empowering Mumbai, India, and the Global South to develop transformative, citizen-driven climate action. This landmark initiative reimagines critical climate solutions as interconnected, scalable innovations rooted in the complex dynamics of the Global South region and its economies.
MCW is dedicated to harnessing the dynamic energy of Mumbai and the broader Indian ecosystem to drive impactful climate action focused on local and Global South scale. By mobilizing India’s vibrant network of climate-focused organizations & movements, it highlights the nation’s already pioneering efforts in active and result oriented climate action and also chart out the next course of action. Being held in Mumbai, a beacon of climate leadership, it amplifies India’s role as a powerful voice for climate action across the Global South.

EDITION TWO DATES ANNOUNCED

IMPACT REPORT OF EDITION ONE FORMALLY RELEASED.

Mumbai Climate Week 2026 marked the launch of India’s first dedicated platform driving climate action for the Global South. Held from 17–19 February in Mumbai, the event brought together governments, corporates, civil society, academia, communities, and capital providers to address key themes of Food Systems, Urban Resilience, and Energy Transition through the lenses of Justice, Innovation, and Funding.

Led by Project Mumbai in partnership with the Government of Maharashtra’s Department of Environment and Climate Change and supported by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and Monitor Deloitte, MCW 2026 convened participants from 30+ countries, featuring 400+ speakers, 135+ sessions, 4,000+ attendees, and a reach of over 120K people.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday formally released the Impact Report of the Mumbai Climate Week 2026 and also announced the dates of the second edition of MCW , planned by Project Mumbai in February 2027.

He was accompanied by all his cabinet colleagues , both the Deputy Chief Ministers, Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra and Environment secretary, along with team Project Mumbai led by Co founder and CEO Shishir Joshi, Board member Ridham Desai and head of Projects Dharmaraj Solanki.
