The Navi Mumbai Plastic Recyclothon is a large-scale citizen movement led by Project Mumbai in partnership with Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) to promote responsible plastic disposal, recycling, and circular economy practices across the city.
Through community collection drives, school and corporate engagement, citizen awareness, and on-ground volunteering, the initiative aims to reduce plastic pollution, prevent landfill waste, and build a culture of segregation and recycling in Navi Mumbai.
Our mission is simple yet powerful — to make plastic recycling easy, accessible, and participatory for every citizen.
What is the Navi Mumbai Plastic Recyclothon?
The Navi Mumbai Plastic Recyclothon is a city-wide plastic collection and awareness drive, encouraging households, housing societies, schools, corporates, and public institutions to segregate, collect, and responsibly recycle plastic waste.
The initiative focuses on:
- Source segregation
- Plastic awareness & education
- Responsible disposal
- Circular economy & recycling
- Community-led climate action
Through drop points, collection drives, awareness workshops, school programs, and volunteering events, the Recyclothon enables citizens to take direct action against plastic pollution.

This initiative is implemented in partnership with Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), aligning with the city’s solid waste management goals and sustainability vision.
Together, Project Mumbai and NMMC aim to:

- Divert plastic from landfills and water bodies
