MUMBAI GIVES 2023

Mumbai-gives-Logo
This October, 2023, the country's most vibrant and active city--Mumbai—is back with MUMBAI GIVES--- arguably the largest citizen-led initiative festival of giving. An initiative of Project Mumbai your very own not for profit, Mumbai Gives coincides with the celebration of Joy of Giving and will begin from October 2 to October 8 this year.

This will be an annual feature from Project Mumbai supported by citizens. Mumbai Gives is our own way of making Mumbai the Kindness capital of India (which, as we all know, Mumbaikars already believe it rightfully is).

Mumbai Gives is about getting as many people across Mumbai to do something for others. Some of the opportunities are listed below.

All you need to do is click on the link, register your presence and commitment to give, and tell us how many of you and your colleagues/friends will join in too. Send us images of you in action.

Last year and again several organisations have already extended their support Goonj, the award-winning not-for-profit will work with Project Mumbai to collect clothes donated by you. Street Konnect from Kandivali a barter festival. Prafulta, the mental well-being counseling center will conduct a free mind well-being check-up camp at multiple locations.

This year, an attempt is being made to bring in as many housing societies, schools, and residential colonies to participate in the joy of giving, through simple acts of kindness. Citizens are being urged to do as much as they can, however little it may be, for others.

All these acts of giving opportunities will be curated by Project Mumbai across Mumbai. Collectively, this will all culminate in Mumbai inching closer to being dubbed the Kindness Capital of India.

GIVE YOUR E-WASTE

Citizens have the option to donate E-waste i.e electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and its parts that have been discarded by the owner as waste without the intention of re-use . For each of these initiatives, those who register for their act of Giving will benefit with an almost doorstep pick up of their act of kindness.

Barter Bazaar At Thakur Village

STREET KONNECT – a registered Association of People representing active citizens of Thakur Village in Kandivali east, is supporting Project Mumbai’s Mumbai Gives–by hosting Barter Bazaar in Thakur village to promote the spirit of sharing.

Barter Bazaar is an effort to promote sustainable living. With growing consumerism and greater spending power there is an added burden on available resources. When we barter (what we have in good condition but don’t need, for something that we can use), it reduces the burden on the environment giving us an opportunity to connect with each other and strengthen the community.

You can barter toys, books, plants, accessories, tabletop decor, sports equipment and music instruments and your talent too

For more information please write to streetkonnect@gmail.com

Pan Mumbai

Project Mumbai will also be setting up registration platforms at the Mumbai Metro stations, three prominent Malls and the Mumbai International Airport during the Joy of Giving Week.

Star Support

Several prominent television artists have volunteered their support for Mumbai Gives and we would be enlisting their help through social media outreach and/or presence at some of our key initiatives of Giving.
