On June 8, 2024, the Jallosh Clean Coasts initiative of Project Mumbai organized its monthly beach cleanup drive across several beaches in Mumbai, including Juhu Pagli, Juhu Koliwada, Bandra, Dadar, Erangal and Prabhadevi. The initiative aims to combat pollution and preserve marine life and is a monthly beach clean-up drive conducted on weekends.
Volunteers were divided into teams and worked tirelessly to remove plastic trash from the shores. With over 490 volunteers, their dedication was remarkable, investing over 1230 hours collectively in the cleanup effort. Together, they successfully collected a whopping 4005 kilograms of plastic waste from the sea.
This Jallosh initiative shows the power of community action to keep Mumbai’s beaches clean and safe.
