- Har Ghar Hai Donor
In April, we conducted 8 impactful sessions for the Har Ghar Hai Donor campaign, reaching over 500 people and more than 20 people taking the Pledge to become an Organ Donor. The sessions were held at three RTOs in Mumbai: Andheri, Wadala, and Vashi. These sessions catered to a wide range of individuals, from auto and taxi drivers to those applying for new licenses or renewing existing ones. The response from Vashi RTO was especially positive, with agents expressing their support to the Project Mumbai Team for our Awareness Session.
They even promised to encourage people in their driving schools to consider being an Organ Donor and tick a ‘YES’ on the license application form. We also received a positive response from the Andheri RTO, where people willingly shared their experiences of donating organs from their loved ones and expressed gratitude for our efforts in raising awareness about this important subject.
We held an awareness session at a housing society in Vile Parle East, and the participants responded positively. The Har Ghar Hai Donor Team impacted over 70 individuals of which 5 pledged to be organ donors.
Additionally, we collaborated with the Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society (BCAS), Churchgate and set up a special desk to raise awareness about Organ Donation. As part of our efforts, we conducted a memory game where individuals would have to categorise different organs as suitable for donation. We then educated them about the various organs that can be donated and explained the process. Visitors to our desk showed a genuine interest in learning more about organ donation.
